As a small business our general rule is that all purchases are nonrefundable. However, as parents ourselves, we understand that sometimes even the best laid plans don’t always go the way we expected. If you find that you need to withdraw from a class, activity or event, the options are outlined below:
COVID-19 POLICIES - until further notice:
All adults and children (older than 4 years old) must bring and wear a face covering when it is not possible to maintain a social distance of 6 ft or more
Masks are recommended for children between 2yr - 4yrs old who can safely wear them
Masks are not recommended for children under 2yrs old
All adults and children must wash or sanitize hands before and frequently throughout participation in any activities
All adults and children must stay home if they or anyone else in their family have any symptoms of illness
Capacity and restrictions for activities and events will follow state and local guidelines and will be updated as needed
No Refunds: If classes or events are missed or canceled due to illness or guidance from local authorities due to COVID-19 or any other health/safety risk we will do our best to reschedule remaining events and classes at a future date or provide alternative options
OUTDOOR / SUMMER CLASSES
No Refunds: For classes cancelled due to illness, weather, or health and safety reasons
If a class is cancelled due to weather, we will do our best to reschedule for another time and/or to provide alternative options
VIRTUAL CLASSES We don't currently have a way to automate sending the URLs through Square, so they will be sent to everyone via email 12-24 hours before the class
If you sign up less than 24hrs before the first class, we will do our best to get the link to you before the class starts OR you will receive a recording of the missed classes once they are available to everyone
REGULAR CLASS SESSIONS
If the withdrawal is one week or more before the start of the session
We will work with you to find another class within the same session
If we can’t find a suitable alternative, you may receive a credit of equal value towards another class or service (to be used within one calendar year and subject to a 10% processing fee)
If you need to withdraw from a class after the session starts or less than one week before a session starts
We will work with you to find another class within the same session
If we can’t find a suitable alternative, you may apply the same number of remaining classes towards eligible drop-in classes (subject to availability) or as an equal number of open play visits within the same session.
If you need to miss a class due to travel during the session or illness (we strongly request you stay home with any signs of illness, see our health policy here)
We track missed classes on the sign-in form and you may apply them towards an eligible drop-in classes or single Open Play visits within the same session (subject to availability)
OFF-SESSION: Specialty, Pop-up Classes, Events, Child Care & Workshops
Are nonrefundable, but in rare occasions, when we have enough notice and can fill your spot with another person, you may receive a credit of equal value towards another class or service (to be used within one calendar year and subject to a 10% processing fee)
SPECIAL EVENTS & BIRTHDAY PARTIES
Are nonrefundable, but in most cases we will be happy to work with you to reschedule your event to another available spot, even if it’s for the following year
If Marblehead Parenting needs to cancel activities, classes, events, child care, workshops, parties, etc. due to factors outside of our control (including weather, illness, under enrollment, public health & safety, or other unforeseen reasons) we will do our best to offer a suitable make-up option.
If you can’t participate in the rescheduled make-up option we may offer (at our discretion)
The same number of canceled class(es) to towards eligible drop-in class(es) or single Open Play visit(s) within the same session (subject to availability)
A gift-card credit of equal value towards another class or future service (subject to availability)
***Special Note Regarding COVID-19 Related Cancellations***
As a small, local, family-owned business we ask for your patience and understanding while we work through these difficult times. We obviously need make some changes to our policies as more information is available from local authorities.
At the moment, we need to put a hold on any requests for refunds and credits for the Spring 2020 session. We need to make sure we can cover overhead costs while we are closed, so we can jump back in where we left off once we are allowed to reopen.
While our location at 40 Tioga Way is required to be closed, we are doing our best to provide virtual and do-at-home options for families who have already signed up for Spring 2020 Session Classes and hope to resume full in-person classes once it is safe to reopen. We are also helping reschedule the parties that were scheduled for the time frame we expect to be closed.
Once we all have a little more info as to how long we will be required to remain closed we promise to provide some options to help bridge the gap. We realize these options and solutions may not work for everyone we will handle special cases on an individual basis and in light of the bigger picture, once we are able to reopen at full capacity.
We LOVE being a valued resource for our community, and this public health crisis is hitting us at a very vulnerable time as a newly reformed business, in the first 6 months of operation with a much larger overhead than we’ve had in the past. We assure everyone that up until this point we have been meeting projections and with everyone’s compassion and understanding, we have every expectation to be able to resume business as usual once we have clearance to do so.
In the meantime, for anyone interested in helping during these tough times, we encourage you to:
Buy an eGift card (no expiration date!) for yourself or a friend, neighbor, family member to use in the future. Do you know someone having a baby soon or with a birthday coming up?
Order a Discounted Play Pass! These do not have expiration dates either, see details here and it will be ready and waiting for you at our front desk when we reopen
Schedule a Party! Planning a birthday party for this summer, next fall or even next winter? We are opening up our party calendar for up to a year from now. Email us with your date requests and we’ll send you an invoice for $100 to hold your spot!
Sign up for classes! We will be offering some new virtual classes with special at home activity kits for the duration of the time we are closed. We also expect to do an early release of our “Summer in the Garden” schedule soon and will give priority registration to current customers.
