Sprouts Nature Class
“If a child is to keep alive his inborn sense of wonder, he needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with him the joy, excitement, and mystery of the world we live in.”
From frogs to fireflies and petals to pinecones, join your preschooler for a fun, safe exploration of the natural world. Each week, we’ll explore a different seasonal nature topic through outdoor exploration, music, puppetry, stories and more in the Lee Mansion’s beautiful gardens. We will include new nature topics and some of last year's favorites.

Teacher: Sierra Muñoz, BS, MS
Sierra’s childhood spent exploring the prairies and woods of the midwest gave her a deep appreciation of the natural world and a passion for environmental education and outreach. She holds B.A. Honors Geography and Masters of Science degrees from the University of Ottawa, where she researched glacial change and climate-ice interactions in the high Arctic. This scientific background combined with a lifelong passion for connecting people with the natural world resulted in a career teaching environmental programs to students of all ages, most recently at the Aldo Leopold Nature Center in Madison, WI and at the Waquoit Bay Summer Science School on Cape Cod. She believes in the transformative power of nature education especially for the youngest child, whose innate curiosity for the world can be nurtured beautifully through outdoor, hands-on learning experiences. Sierra loves exploring the woods and coastlines of Massachusetts with her husband and her 2 year old son, Emmett, and is excited to share her love of the outdoors with the families of the North Shore.
